Why people need Jesus Christ, God’s salvation, and new life
Read full message
Dear friend — now, let us think about a very important question together: Why do people need Jesus Christ? Maybe you are listening to this because your heart feels tired. Maybe life has been heavy. Maybe you feel broken, rejected, lonely, ashamed, afraid, or without hope. Maybe you have tried to be strong for a long time, but deep inside you know you need help that is greater than yourself. Or maybe, from the outside, your life looks fine. You may have achievements, relationships, comfort, or enjoyment, but deep inside you still feel empty, as if something is missing. Or maybe you have never thought much about what happens after this life. Maybe you are busy living day by day, working, studying, caring for family, solving problems, or simply trying to get through what is in front of you. Whether a person is carrying pain or simply going through the motions, every human heart eventually arrives at the same questions: What is my life really for? What will happen when this life comes to an end? And is there someone who truly knows me and cares? Whether a person has much or little, whether life looks successful or painful, and whether someone has thought deeply about eternity or not, every human heart has a deep need that only God can answer. You are not an accident. You are not invisible to God. You were not created without meaning. Long before you were born, God already knew you. Psalm 139:15-16 says, “My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. ” The Bible tells us that you were made by God and for God. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” God created you in His own image. That means your life has value. Even if people have rejected you, God has not forgotten you. Even if you feel broken, your life is still precious to Him. In the deepest part of your life, there is a place that only God Himself can fill. Money cannot fill it. Status cannot fill it. Relationships and enjoyment cannot fill it. Even comfort and outward success cannot reach the hidden wound of the human heart. Nothing created can truly satisfy the deepest need within a person, because people were originally made for God. Next, we need to understand a deeper issue: A person does not only have a body. A person also has a soul and a spirit. The soul includes mind, emotions, and will. The spirit is the deepest and most central part of human life — it was originally created to fellowship with God. The problem is this: When Adam, the first man, chose to rebel against God and listen to Satan, humanity departed from the life of God and came under the influence of sin and the power of darkness. This is spiritual death. Spiritual death does not mean that the body stops breathing. It means that the deepest connection between people and God has been broken. The spirit, which was made for God, became cut off from His life. This is the true root of the emptiness, pain, and thirst within people. 1 John 5:19 says, "The whole world lies in the power of the evil one." Romans 3:23 also says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." So what people truly need is not merely outward improvement. It is not simply trying harder to become better by our own effort. What people truly need is God's salvation. We need to be restored to relationship with God and receive His life directly into our spirit. So, how does God save us? God accomplished redemption for us through the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross. The Old Testament tells us that life is in the blood, and that blood makes atonement. Because life is in the blood, only the shedding of sinless blood could truly pay the price for sin. Hebrews 9:22 says, "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." God personally sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man. He was born of the virgin Mary and came among us. He never sinned, yet He willingly went to the cross for our sins. He shed His own blood, paid the price for our sins, and accomplished forgiveness and redemption for us. The blood of Jesus opened a way for us to return to God. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. He overcame sin, and He also overcame death. This proves that He is the Son of God, and it also proves that the redemption He accomplished on the cross is real, complete, and effective. When you truly believe in Jesus Christ, confess that He is Lord, and receive Him into your life, something wonderful happens. It is not merely an outward change of behavior. It is not a repair of the old life. Rather, the Holy Spirit enters you and brings your spirit back to life — restoring what was lost when humanity fell. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." John 1:12 says, "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." This is the true meaning of new life. It is not improving the old self. It is becoming a new creation in Christ. Your spirit is restored to fellowship with God. You become a child of God. You receive eternal life. And you are no longer alone. So now, you can receive the grace of God’s salvation through prayer. You do not need to make yourself better first. You do not need to hide your weakness. Right now, come before Him as you truly are, with your weakness, sin, pain, and need. You can pray like this: Loving heavenly Father, I admit that I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. I admit that I need Your salvation. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ into the world. Thank You that Jesus died for me on the cross, bore my sins, shed His blood, and accomplished forgiveness and redemption for me. Today, I am willing to repent and turn to You. I open my heart and receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Savior, forgiving my sins and cleansing me from all unrighteousness. I also receive Jesus Christ as my Lord, ruling over my life. May Your Spirit enter me, cause me to be born again, and make me Your child. Please lead me from this day forward to know You, follow You, and live in Your love. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. If you prayed this sincerely, the Bible gives you a clear promise: 1 John 5:12 says, "Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life." Now, you can believe God's promise: Because of Jesus Christ, your sins have been forgiven. You now have the life of God. You have become a child of God. From today on, you can begin to read the Word of God, pray, join a church, and continue to grow in God's family. This is not the end. This is the beginning of new life.
